Cacapon Resort State Park, opened in 1933 on the eastern slopes of Cacapon Mountain in West Virginia, covers 6,115 acres in a broad mountain setting. Its Panorama Overlook rises 2,320 feet above sea level, the park’s highest point and the highest in Morgan County. Developed as a resort-style public recreation area, it offers lodging, dining, meeting space, and a wide range of outdoor activities, including golf, swimming, fishing, horseback riding, and trails. Its historical significance includes surviving New Deal-era features, recognized in 2019 as the New Deal Resources in Cacapon State Park Historic District on the National Register of Historic Places.
