Decatur County Training School Crowder High School existed from 1925 to 1965 and is remembered by members and friends of the DCTS-CHS Alumni Association as a great institution honoring the memory of its faculty and students. Its faculty included founder and principal Mr. David C. Crowder, principals Mr. F.L. Buck and Mr. S.F. Dobbins, and many other teachers and staff. The school is further remembered through a school tribute pledging faithfulness to DCTS-CHS and Decatur-Crowder, praise for its service and excellence, and a quotation from Dr. Martin L. King, Jr. emphasizing education’s two-fold function of utility and culture in helping a person become more efficient and achieve the legitimate goals of life.
