Hell Creek Recreation Area
Nature
Hell Creek Recreation Area is a Montana state park on the south side of Fort Peck Lake, about 20 miles north of Jordan, managed by the Little Shell Tribe of Chippewa Indians of Montana. Covering 337 acres on the western side of Hell Creek Bay, it serves as a year-round access point to the reservoir with a marina and facilities for water sports, camping, and fishing. The area draws anglers seeking walleye, northern pike, and smallmouth bass, and it is also known for exceptionally dark night skies rated Bortle class 1. It operates under a no-cost lease with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers.
