Sylacauga marble is an example of the world's purest white marble. It is 500 million years old, is 98 percent pure calcium carbonate, and weighs 29,000 pounds. This quality marble is found only in the Sylacauga area in a seam 32 miles long, 12 miles wide and 400 feet deep. The marble was donated by Georgia Marble Company and placed here by Conn Equipment Rental.
