A pioneer Kerr County water-powered mill near the Kelly Creek-Guadalupe River confluence ground corn, sawed lumber, and ginned cotton. Built in the 1870s by John Sherman, it remained in use until a flood destroyed it in 1932. Sherman, his wife, and 8 children lived in a house nearby that still stands.
