Brown's Landing, known as Lock & Dam #2, was built in 1917 and provides scenic access to the Cape Fear River with a 40 by 200-foot lock. Despite damage from Hurricanes Matthew and Florence that has closed the building, the site remains a popular recreational area featuring a boat ramp, fishing pier, picnic shelter, and parking area, with a portable restroom available on the property.
