During the summer of 1997, Jim Gype was asked by the Veteran's Pavilion Building Committee to help with installing the pavilion structure on this site, and he agreed to assist. Because of his untold hours of work, business expertise, contacts, influence, and leadership talents, the endeavor was completed in time for the start of the 1997 Fulton County Fair. The membership of the Fulton County United Veterans were grateful to Jim Gype, whose volunteered efforts helped prevent the project from taking longer to complete.
