William King, a Presbyterian clergyman of Scottish and English ancestry, was born in Londonderry, Northern Ireland, died in Canada at the age of eighty-two, and is buried in Maple Leaf Cemetery at Chatham, Ontario, Canada. The Old King Farm has been recognized as an Underground Railroad Station by the United States Department of the Interior, National Park Service, National Underground Railroad Network to Freedom, Buxton National Historic Site and Museum (Canada), Fulton County Chapter, The Ohio Genealogical Society, Ohio Historical Society, Friends of Freedom Society, Ohio Underground Railroad Association, and Afro-Louisiana Historical and Genealogical Society, Inc. The King Family Cemetery has been recognized as an Underground Railroad Site by the National Underground Railroad Network to Freedom and the Ohio Historical Society.
