The Train at Lake Forest Park
Transportation
3
From 1948, when Lake Forest Park first opened, to the early 1970's, the train and three cars entertained thousands of youngsters and adults alike. Riders traveled through familiar scenes of East Texas on 2200 feet of track, crossing the Sabine River, passing through a tunnel, and going across the Piney woods before returning to the station where their adventure began. The train was engineered, designed, and manufactured by the National Amusement Device Co. in Dayton, Ohio.
