The first and second brigades of the First Cavalry Division marched from Taneytown to Westminster, the Reserve Brigade of the First Cavalry Division moved from Emmitsburg to the field at Gettysburg, and the Second Brigade of the Second Cavalry Division marched from Manchester to Westminster during the Battle of Gettysburg’s third day and the fight at Fairfield, Pennsylvania.
