Dash Point State Park is a 398-acre public recreation area on Puget Sound near Federal Way and Northeast Tacoma, spanning King and Pierce counties. Known earlier as Ison Landing, Fairview Beach, and Woodstock Beach, it appeared on official maps as Dash Point by 1877. Washington bought the land in 1958 after local resident Carl Anderson urged its preservation, and a bench was dedicated to him in 2018. The park combines more than 3,300 feet of shoreline with forested uplands, offering 140 campsites and 11 miles of trails. Its beach, mudflats, and waterfront support summer recreation including swimming, fishing, birdwatching, windsurfing, and skimboarding.
