The Bank of Villa Rica was Carroll County’s oldest financial institution and one of the oldest financial institutions in Georgia. Chartered with $15,000 of capital when it opened in 1899, it was one of the few banks that survived the Great Depression. This building served as the bank’s main location from 1899 until February 11, 1974, and from this site and later locations the bank served the community for 97 years.
