Wear Kibler Schoonover, Arkansas's first All-American in football, was born in Pocahontas on this place, graduated from PHS and the U. of Arkansas at Fayetteville, and accomplished much both academically and in sports. He was also 2nd team All-American in basketball and lettered in baseball and track in college. He maintained a 3.85 GPA throughout college and was elected president of his senior class. After graduation, he earned a law degree at Arkansas and starred in the Hollywood movie Maybe It's Love. He retained most of the Razorbacks' receiving records for many decades, including once catching 13 passes in a single game.
