P Gay Mountain is a named peak in New York’s Adirondack Mountains, located in the Town of Indian Lake east of Indian Lake. Its name is thought to be connected to the “P.K. Slip” on the Hudson River to the northwest, which itself lay east of the “O.K. Slip.” That older local naming pattern survives in nearby features including a lake, falls, and creek. Beyond this possible origin of the name, the mountain is identified primarily as one of the named summits in this part of the Adirondacks.
