From 1917 to 1919, those who served their state and county to the credit of the City of Waterville in the World War were honored and appreciated. Fourteen rows of inscribed names recorded them. The American Legion seal appeared on an adjoining plaque, and Bourque-Lanigan Post No. 5 American Legion and the Waterville Parks and Recreation Department dedicated and refinished it on May 20th 1995, with dedication on Veteran's Day Nov 11,1995.
