William H. Kilcawley was a member of the Mahoning County Agricultural Society from 1945 to 1958 and served as director and treasurer. Through his interest and generosity, a glacial boulder was moved to this location. The stone had been transported by the continental ice sheet and deposited about 1000 feet east of this spot when the ice melted. Because it was found on the surface, it came near the end of the glacial period, 18,000 to 20,000 years ago. The nearest outcrop of this type of stone is north of Toronto, Canada, about 500 miles away.
