The Will Reed Farm Home property was placed on the National Register of Historic Places by the United States Department of the Interior. Its founders were Odessa Smith, Newton Smith, Dan Smith, Thelma Skies, and Shelba Clowdis. It is also the birthplace of Chet Lauck, known as Lum of Lum and Abner radio.
