The Vermont International Museum of Contemporary Art + Design is based in Eden, Vermont, in the Green Mountains, where it maintains galleries, an outdoor sculpture park, a permanent collection, and thematic exhibitions. Renamed in 2015 from the Vermont Museum of Contemporary Art + Design, it also developed a distinctive Mobile Museum, a miniature museum in a renovated 1960s camper trailer that chiefly displays sculptures at a 1:12 scale. After receiving support in 2016 from the Vermont Arts Council and the National Endowment for the Arts, the mobile project began touring in 2017, extending the museum’s contemporary art and design program beyond its main site.
