Lake Nettie National Wildlife Refuge is a 3,055-acre protected area in North Dakota within the National Wildlife Refuge System. The U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service manages it from offices at Audubon National Wildlife Refuge. Of its total area, 2,420 acres are public land, and 635 acres are protected by easements on privately owned property. This mix of public ownership and private easements reflects a cooperative conservation approach in which landowners and the federal government work together to protect the refuge’s natural resources.
