Boundary Falls is a roughly forty-foot waterfall on Boundary Creek in British Columbia, in a small canyon between Midway and Greenwood beside the settlement that took its name from the falls. Easily viewed from the rim, it also stood within a short-lived industrial landscape. Miners settled Boundary Falls in 1890, built a smelter completed in 1901, and used a dam upstream from the brink to help generate power for Greenwood. The enterprise soon faltered under high costs, coke shortages, financial problems, and low copper prices, closing officially in 1907. Slag piles and the old dam remain as reminders of a brief mining and refining era.
