The wall honors veterans and branches of the United States armed forces, including the Army, Marine Corps, Navy, Air Force, Space Force, and Coast Guard, and includes their associated departments, mottos, and founding years. It also recognizes the Veterans of Foreign Wars of the United States, remembers prisoners of war and those missing in action with the words “You Are Not Forgotten,” and names wars and conflicts including World War I, World War II, Korea, Vietnam, Desert Storm, Iraq, and Afghanistan.
