Aullwood Audubon Center and Farm in southwestern Ohio grew from Marie Aull’s vision of a Midwestern Audubon nature center and children’s farm where young people could learn ecology, livestock, crops, and the role of family farming. Beginning with her 1957 donation of 70 acres and expanded by later land gifts and acquisitions, it developed into a combined education center, working farm, and protected sanctuary with extensive trails and varied habitats. After the center and farm were unified in 1978, community support organizations helped sustain and expand it. Today it serves more than 110,000 people annually and ranks among the leading Audubon sites in the United States.
