The National Quilt Museum opened on April 25, 1991. Founded by Meredith and Bill Schroeder, it works to honor and promote the work of today’s quiltmaker. It is a destination for quilters and art enthusiasts, receiving visitors from all corners of the globe, and Mayor Gerry B. Montgomery has proclaimed Paducah, Quilt City USA.
