Cummins Falls State Park is a 282-acre Tennessee state park northwest of Cookeville, centered on the 75-foot Cummins Falls along the Blackburn Fork State Scenic River. Its significance lies in pairing a major waterfall with a protected river landscape and in its creation through land conservation. Purchased and established in 2011 by TennGreen Land Conservancy, then called the Tennessee Parks and Greenways Foundation, the park preserved the falls and surrounding scenery for public use instead of private ownership. Today it is a destination for picnicking, hiking, and fishing, and a recent Tennessee example of conservation directly creating a state park.
