Built reportedly as a library in the early 1900's, this Inverness building later housed School Superintendent R.L. Turner until the 1912 courthouse was completed and his office moved there. After the Woman's Club of Inverness formed in 1917, the building was enlarged in 1922, paid off in 1926, and then became a library, while the Kiwanis Club, chartered in 1925, also met here in 1925/26 and the Woman's Club members served lunches to raise funds. In 1945 the junior-senior prom was held here, and in the early 1960's the library moved to another location. The Inverness Woman's Club was active during World War I, organizing a Red Cross committee, rolling bandages, knitting sweaters, scarves, and lap covers for servicemen, and planting oak trees at the grammar school for Inverness boys in the armed services. The club also organized the first PTA in Citrus County, furnished a room in the late 1950's for the newly built Citrus Memorial Hospital, and supported community services including Meals on Wheels, Citrus United Basket, Inverness Care Center, Hacienda Girl's Ranch, Girl and Boy Scouts, the Red Cross, the Cancer Society, the Heart Association, and All Children's Hospital. In 1999 George Derewenko and Linda Bega purchased the building and used it for private enterprise.
