Grand Mesa National Scenic Byway is a 63-mile route in western Colorado that crosses Grand Mesa, a vast flat-topped mountain, linking Cedaredge with Interstate 70 at Exit 49 and continuing along Forest Service Road 100 to Land's End Observatory. Following Colorado State Highway 65, it climbs to 10,849 feet as a paved road rising from surrounding valleys onto the mesa top. Its importance comes from the union of road engineering and dramatic geography: it provides access across one of Colorado’s most distinctive landforms while also standing as a destination drive, with the Land's End spur offering a notable viewpoint.
