Foulweather Bluff is a protected coastal landscape at the northwest end of Washington’s Kitsap Peninsula on Puget Sound near the entrance to Hood Canal. Named in 1792 by George Vancouver after rough weather there, it reflects the exposed maritime character of the site. The preserve, established in 1967 by the Nature Conservancy after a major land donation from Errol Rawson and additional nearby parcels, includes the cliff, beach, marsh, and adjoining alder and coniferous forest. Together these environments provide important habitat for many species, especially wintering ducks, and a trail connects the upland preserve to the shoreline below.
