The Bell UH-1 "Huey" helicopter was commonly referred to as the workhorse of the Vietnam War. It was responsible for lifesaving, medical evacuation, troop and cargo movement, and, when properly equipped, service as a gunship. This helicopter served in Vietnam from Nov 1968 to Feb 1972, accumulated over 3000 flight hours in a combat zone, and was attached to the 1st Air Cav. It currently carries the markings of the air ambulance assigned to the 68th medical detachment of the Chu Lai Dustoff and is dedicated to those who served in Vietnam.
