Robert Lee Frost's poetry became a cornerstone of American literature for its celebration of history, landscape, and the human spirit. His year teaching at Plymouth Normal School while living here in 1911-12 was a period of deep introspection. He and his family then lived in England, where he published "A Boy's Will" and "North of Boston." He left Plymouth as a teacher and returned to America as an acclaimed poet and celebrated man of letters. From this place he took the road "less traveled by," which for the world "has made all the difference."
