An outdoor performance venue had long been part of the vision for New Albany, and it became a reality when the Hinson family made a legacy gift toward its design and construction. The community followed the family's lead, raising the remaining funds required to build this performance space. The Charleen and Charles Hinson Amphitheater is a signature component of the New Albany cultural arts district, and its proximity to the McCoy Center creates collaborative programming opportunities. It provides an inspiring environment for performers and patrons alike as it hosts local, regional and national performing arts groups, and it is also an important component of arts programming for New Albany Schools.
