Established in 1819, Old Burlington Cemetery was Burlington's first community cemetery. It holds the remains of more than 250 Boone County residents, including county judges and other leading citizens and businessmen from the last two centuries. Those buried here also include war veterans such as Revolutionary War Colonel Israel Gilpin and six Civil War veterans.
