William B. Trower Bayshore Natural Area Preserve is a small protected area on the Chesapeake Bay in Northampton County, Virginia. It safeguards beach strand and dune communities along the shore, along with scrubland and woodland, and has no public facilities. Named for Northampton County physician and farmer William Bell Trower, it occupies land that formed part of his original holdings on Virginia’s Eastern Shore and was donated to the Commonwealth of Virginia by his eldest daughter after his death. The preserve is also significant for supporting a population of the northeastern beach tiger beetle.
