Hillery Street Bridge over the Passaic River
Science & Tech
2
A four-span Pratt Pony Truss bridge built at this site in 1898 was historically significant as the only remaining bridge of its kind in Passaic County. Its distinctive features included riveted pinned connections and knee braces. The present bridge, built in 2008, incorporates the sidewalk railing, masonry cap stones, and portions of the trusses from the original bridge, and replicates the original sidewalk brackets that supported the sidewalk.
