Granite Peak-Northwest Peak is a 12,750-foot mountain in Montana’s Beartooth Mountains within the Absaroka-Beartooth Wilderness, near Granite Peak on the border of Custer and Gallatin National Forests. Also known as Peak 12745, it shares the same massif as Granite Peak and rises only a little more than 300 feet above the saddle between them. That limited topographic prominence leaves its status debated, with some regarding it as a separate summit and others as a lower subpeak instead of a distinct mountain. If treated as its own peak, it ranks as the second-highest mountain in Montana.
