Priegel Pier

After an unprecedented series of storms in June 2008, a breach at the eastern end of Lake Delton completely drained the lake. Gordon "Gordy" Priegel, a trustee for the Village of Lake Delton who was very knowledgeable about fish habitat, began work to prepare and eventually restock Lake Delton. He oversaw the eradication of carp that remained in the creek, raised funds through contribution containers and solicited donations, assisted in obtaining fish cribs, and prepared natural spawning areas throughout the lakebed. He also arranged for and oversaw the stocking of thousands of fish, helping restore fishing enjoyment at the lake, and he assisted in obtaining funding for a fishing pier placed at the site of the breach. On October 4, 2012, the pier was dedicated as Priegel Pier in appreciation for his service to the community.
