Florida's first Bicentennial Park was dedicated on August 25, 1973, in honor of Thomas A. Dexter during the Crescent City Commission of Mayor Bobby L. Wiltcher and Commissioners Jimmy Miller, Dudley Sargent, Jack Deacon, and Jerry Ellis.
