A stone transported from Henry Shoemaker's estate at McElhattan was erected on the Albany Purchase Line in 1938, with the line about one mile north of this spot. A plaque attached to the stone concerned the Albany Purchase of 1754, but it was stolen in 1939. In 1966 the stone was brought here.
