Alex Theatre was placed on the National Register of Historic Places by the United States Department of the Interior. The theatre building dates to 1925 and was designed by architects Arthur G. Lindley and Charles R. Selkirk. Its marquee and tower date to 1940 and were designed by architect S. Charles Lee.
