Carlton D. Wall House, also called Snowflake, is a Frank Lloyd Wright-designed home in Plymouth Township, Michigan, and one of his more elaborate Usonian houses. Created for Carlton David Wall and his wife after they approached Wright in 1941, it features a central chimney and service core with hexagonal forms radiating outward, producing the diamond-grid patterns that gave the house its name. Built of cypress and brick, it marked Wright’s first use in Michigan of his modular diamond structure. Its terrace, retaining wall, and extensive windows reflect Wright’s effort to unite indoor and outdoor space. Later additions and owners continued its evolving history as a private residence.
