In September 2011, Tinley Park public safety personnel traveled to New York to bring a support beam that once stood inside the World Trade Center to Tinley Park as a physical reminder of the first responders and innocent civilians murdered on September 11, 2001, when terrorists attacked America. The beam stands for strength and unbreakable American spirit, and it honors the heroes and sacrifice of 9/11 and those lost that day.
