Scouting was seen as delivering to the nation a great gift: a new generation of prepared young citizens who are physically strong, mentally awake, and morally straight, growing through their scouting experience, learning the lessons of responsible citizenship, taking pride in the great accomplishments of their country, and looking to the future to take their part in furthering human progress and understanding.
