Located atop a prominent hill, Copperopolis Cemetery overlooks the community of Copperopolis and the surrounding area. Beyond its wrought iron gates and along its paths stand four-foot natural stone walls. Civil War veterans, Clampers, and many members of the founding families are buried and honored there, and their diligence and perseverance shaped the community that stands there today. The oldest tombstone is dated 1863.
