Lisbon Winery, built in 1882, is the last surviving native-stone winery in Napa. Built and operated by Joseph Mathews (Mateus), a native of Portugal, it produced a variety of wines including prize-winning sherry. Mathews was a pioneer in exporting fine Napa wines to Europe.
