North of the Greenville Treaty Line, six hundred forty acres of land were given to Nancy Stewart, daughter of Chief Blue Jacket, by Shawnee chiefs in council at Wapakoneta on May 22, 1813, and this grant was approved in the treaty of 1817 by the U.S. Government. The Nancy Stewart Section was land granted to Nancy Stewart and her mother Margaret Moore, the wife of Blue Jacket. Shawnee chiefs Black Hoof, Wolf, Butler, Snake, and Powaussay, living at Wapakoneta, and Capt. Lewis and Panatha at Old Town signed this grant in 1813.
