Major Edouard J. Jacques received the Distinguished Flying Cross from the 8th Army Air Force during World War II, in 1944-1945, and the R.I. Star, and he later served the citizens of the Town of Coventry, R.I., as a member and president of the Town Council from 1970-1974 and as a member and chairman of the Coventry Housing Authority from 1999-2009.
