Cold Springs Station on the Central Overland Trail was a stopping place where travelers prepared to cross a sixty mile desert after coming up Edwards Creek Valley between two ranges of mountains by cutting grass and filling their kegs with water, as Lumin A. Scott recalled on Aug. 29, 1859.
