Built in 1930 as Hartsville’s main post office, this former federal building in Hartsville, South Carolina, now serves as the Hartsville Museum with local history and art exhibits. Designed by the Office of the Supervising Architect of the United States Department of the Treasury under James A. Wetmore, with Ernest C. Steward supervising construction, it is a one-story, five-bay brick Colonial Revival building with a rectangular plan, flat roof behind a parapet, and a symmetrical facade distinguished by large arched windows with decorative keystones. After postal operations moved in 1963, the building was adapted for civic use and later recognized on the National Register of Historic Places in 1997.
