Hammerstein House, designed in the Tropical Modern style by Bayard Lukens in 1935, was the home of Vera and Clarence Hammerstein. Its interior has detailed archways, ceilings, and floors, including decorative Cuban tiles acquired in their world travels. The Hammersteins were very civic minded and active in Hollywood, and upon their death they donated their home to the City of Hollywood.
