From the early 1800’s until the early 1900’s, a stagecoach road coming directly from Delaware passed this point on its way to Millville, Warrensburg, Marysville, and Prospect. It was later closed by the property holders, the McClure Family, after the Delaware-Marysville Road had become the piked and major thoroughfare, with the permission and blessing of state and county officials.
