This bell was once atop the first permanent schoolhouse in Woodruff and was used to announce school, church, meetings, funerals, and 4th of July celebrations. It was dedicated to the two hundredth anniversary of the United States of America and sponsored by the Utah American Revolution Bicentennial Commission and Woodruff Bicentennial Committee, with the committee under the leadership of Mayor Clyde Longhurst and Annie S. Wamsley.
